Job Description
Downey Car Care Center is looking for a Cashier to manage all transactions with customers accurately and efficiently. Cashier responsibilities include receiving payments and issuing receipts, and keeping track of all cash and credit transactions. To be successful in this role, you should have previous experience in a customer service position and good knowledge of how cash registers operate. Ultimately, you will ensure that the company’s transactions are processed accurately and the company’s cash drawer is running smoothly.
Responsibilities
- Manage transactions with customers using cash registers
- Scan goods and ensure that all sales tax is correct
- Collect payments whether in cash or credit
- Issue receipts when payments are made
- Resolve customer complaints, provide appropriate solutions and alternatives within the time limits given (e.g. discounts, refunds)
- Keep track of cash and credit transactions
- Maintain equipment and tools by ensuring they are clean and well-used
- Assess customers’ needs and provide solutions to their problems
- Follow procedures and guidelines set by the managers and/or supervisors
- Other duties as assigned by managers or supervisors'
