Candidates must have completed a neuroanesthesiology fellowship and be ABA board-certi! fied or board eligible and actively pursuing board certification. Responsibilities include education of residents and medical students. Opportunities are available for those interested in clinical/basic research.
The Department of Anesthesiology serves West Virginia University Hospitals, the premier regional referral center for West Virginia and parts of Pennsylvania and Maryland. WVUH houses a Level 1 Trauma Center and is the largest provider of neurosurgical care in the region. With approximately 1500 cases per year, all subspecialties of neurosurgery are treated. The institution offers a collaborative professional environment, some of the world's most advanced technology, and highly regarded programs in neurosurgery, pediatric cardiothoracic surgery, ophthalmology, orthopaedics, cancer, and many other fields.
