The Surgery Scheduler is responsible for:
Providingefficient patient registration; obtaining required personal and medical information required during the registration process.
Scheduling patients f or procedures accurately.
Performing secretarial duties to assist with efficient unit operations.
Promoting high quality customer service relations with physician offices, patients and families.

Position Requirements
:
Licensure/Certification/Registration:
Not Applicable.
Education:
High school Diploma or equivalent.
Experience:
1 year previous experience in scheduling/registration or related medical field preferred. Physician office experience is acceptable.
Safety:
Participates in all required educational and competency offerings related to safety, including patient safety activities. Agrees to abide by the Saint Francis Hospital implementation plans for The Joint Commission National Patient Safety Goals. Provides feedback concerning any patient safety issues identified within the hospital.
Special qualifications:
Healthcare B LS validation preferred within 60 days of employment, with revalidation per AHA guidelines.

Customer orientation â" establishes and maintains long-term customer relationships, building trust and respect by
constantly meeting and exceeding expectations
PC Skills â" demonstrates proficiency in PC applications as required
Basic Skills include but are not limited to -ability to perform mathematical calculations as they relate to job
performance and duties, balance and reconcile figures, attention to detail, punctuate properly, spell accurately
Basic Knowledge of medical terminology
Hours of work:
Able to work scheduled hours as dictated by business needs. Normal hours of work will be determined by Director. Hours of work varies based on shifts and department area. Additional time may include on call, weekends, nights, holidays and overtime. Must be able to flex as dictated by the Surgical Services Director. In the event of a natural disaster or emergency, employee may be called in as per hospital policy.
Attendance:
Consistent, predictable attendance, including punctuality, is required.
