Provide personal services for Fee Basis Providers (FBP) who shall perform medical histories, physical examinations, and reviews of required medical tests! and documents pertaining to consultations and medical histories on applicants of the Armed Forces at 66 Military Entrance Processing Stations (MEPS) and processing facility for the United States Military Entrance Processing Command (USMEPCOM).
The mission of the USMEPCOM is to process applicants for the Armed Forces of the United States. The Command administers over 350,000 physical examinations annually at 66 MEPS and processing sites located throughout the continental United States, Alaska, Hawaii, and Puerto Rico, to support the mission of the Armed Forcesâ recruiting services for the Departments of the Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines, and Coast Guard.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities

- Perform medical histories, physical examinations, and reviews of required medical tests and documents pertain! ing to consultations and medical histories on applicants for t! he Armed Forces in accordance with USMEPCOM Regulation 40-1 and other applicable regular regulations.
This position does not have supervisory responsibilities.
Minimum Qualifications
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
Education and/or Experience
- Possess a current certification of Basic Life Support Training from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross training for Healthcare Providers. This training must include a âhands-onâ portion. The FBP shall be recertified every two years at the contractorâs expense. This certification shall be maintained throughout the performance period of the contract.
- Complies with the credential requirements stated in the Department of Defense governing policy documents list! ed in Section 6. USMEPCOM Regulation 40-1, Medical Processing and Examination, Chapter 3 provides requirements for initial credential packages and renewal packages. The COR has the discretion to forward or withhold initial or renewal credentialing packets received from the contractor from further processing.
- All PAs must complete 100 Continuing Medical Education Credits during any two year period, therefore the requirement for PA supervision by a physician is waived when working at the MEPS.
Shall possess computer skills necessary to access and update electronic applicant medical documentation, access and respond to e-mail communications, and use internet sites as required to obtain information on medical issues or gain information from organizations involved in accessing personnel into the Armed Forces.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations, Clearance:
- Possess current unrestricted license to practice! as a registered nurse in one of the fifty states, the District of Colu! mbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, Guam, or the U.S. Virgin Islands and be privileged by the USMEPCOM Command Surgeon. All current and past state licenses shall be unencumbered.
