Wheeling Hospital’s Anesthesia Team is currently seeking several graduate CRNA’s to join the expanding Surgical Services Department. With the recent opening of a! brand new, seven story building addition and the addition of offsite locations, Wheeling Hospital is an exciting place for a CRNA to be!

Work related Experience: Anesthesiology experience preferred (salary commensurate with experience), newly certified Anesthetists welcome. Must be competent in all anesthesia techniques and administration i.e. cardiovascular- open heart, thoracic, neuro, organ retrieval, pediatrics, radiology, ENT, oncology and general surgery. Must work all shifts and trauma (calls included).

Additional relevant experience/education or certification required: Graduate of accredited School of Anesthesia. BLS, ACLS,PALS, Current WV RN license, Current OH RN license and COA, Current AANA certification.

Administers and maintains proper surgical level of anesthesia to patient. Continues post-operative observation and maintains equipment. Monitors patients having been administered a regional anesthetic or local anesthetic.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Formal Education: Regist! ered nurse; graduate of certified school of anesthesia.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Checks all anesthesia equipment before each

case for proper functioning. Orders repairs

when necessary.

2. Checks patients vital signs and patients chart

before induction anesthesia.

3. Discusses with anesthesiologist and surgeon

all possible problems concerning positioning,

blood counts,

temperature, pulse, etc.

4. Assists in patient positioning.

5. Administers anesthetic agents and maintains

proper safe surgical level of anesthesia during

entire operation.

6. Assists in transport of patients to the recovery

room and continues post-operative observation

until patient is returned to nursing unit.

7. Covers all emergency and obstetrical cases

when on call.

8. Directs aide in maintaining areas in an orde! rly

fashion and maintaining proper supply levels.

9. Participates on various department committees.

10. Assists in placement of and caring for invasive

monitoring lines.

11. Instructs student nurse anesthetists and

respiratory therapy students during on-the-job

training sessions.

12. Performs all other duties assigned.
