Job Summary:

We are seeking a dedicated and customer-focused Retail Pharmacy Assistant to join our team at Aileen Good Life Pharmacy. As a Retail Pharmacy Assistant, you will play a crucial role in assisting pharmacists and providing excellent customer service to ensure the efficient operation of our retail pharmacy. This position also offers the potential opportunity for you to gain valuable experience in our dispensary.

Responsibilities:

  • Greet customers and assist them in finding the products they need.
  • Answer customer inquiries and provide accurate information about prescription medications, over-the-counter products, and general health-related questions.
  • Process prescription orders accurately and efficiently, ensuring adherence to all legal and regulatory requirements.
  • Prepare and label prescription medications under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist.
  • Maintain inventory levels of prescription and over-the-counter medications, including restocking shelves and monitoring expiration dates.
  • Operate the cash register and handle financial transactions with customers, ensuring accuracy and adherence to all cash handling procedures.
  • Assist with maintaining a clean and organized work environment, including shelving and pricing products.
  • Collaborate with the pharmacy team to ensure smooth workflow and timely completion of tasks.
  • Follow all safety and security procedures to maintain the integrity of medications and protect customer privacy.
  • Provide exceptional customer service by actively listening to customers, addressing their needs, and resolving any issues or complaints in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Gain valuable experience in our dispensary by assisting with dispensing medications, compounding prescriptions, and learning about the dispensing process under the guidance of our experienced pharmacy staff.

Requirements:

  • Leaving cert or equivalent.
  • Previous experience in a retail or customer service role is preferred.
  • Basic understanding of pharmacy operations and familiarity with prescription medications is desirable.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in handling medications.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a positive and professional demeanor.
  • Proficient computer skills and ability to learn new software systems.
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
