The Physician (Radiologist) will also serve as the Chief of Imaging Services, duties will included but not be limited to:
- Serve as the clinical administrative leader fo r Imaging Service for the Huntington VA Medical Center (VAMC) and it's affiliated clinics, reporting the the facility Chief of Staff.
- Support and supervise a team of Radiologist, Technologist and Medical Support Staff engaged in teh provision of imaging exams and procedures to include; Ultrasound, Radiography, MRI, CT, Mammography, DEXA, Fluoroscopy, interventional procedures and Nuclear Medicine exams and treatments.
- Interpret and deliver highly accurate and detailed interpretation of all imaging exams to include general, MRI, PET/CT, CAT scan, Ultrasound to include vascular, and nuclear medicine studies.
- Perform fluoroscopic examinations (contrast and non-contrast).
- Interpret Duplex Carotid studies by Doppler Ultrasound examinations.
- Participate in tumor board, training for residents/physicians, and conferences.
- Develop polices and procedures, daily direction of the administrative and clinical operations of the Service, meeting productivity and quality goals, and strategic planning.
- Supervise the daily activities and coordinate coverage for the Radiology Department.
- Works on a daily basis with a Imaging Administrative Officer and the Chief Technologist to meet the imaging needs of patients.
- Perform some direct patient care clinical duties and to be competent in reading the full range of diagnostic imaging modalities including MRI, CT, US and NM.
- Provide leadership to ensure achievement of the clinical, research and education goals, as well as, applicable performance measures.
- Serve on various committees within the facility.
Work Schedule: Monday- Friday 8:00am-4:30pmBasic Requirements:
- United States Citizenship: Non-citizens may only be appointed when it is not possible to recruit qualified citizens in accordance with VA Policy.
- Degree of doctor of medicine or an equivalent degree resulting from a course of education in medicine or osteopathic medicine. The degree must have been obtained from one of the schools approved by the Department of Veterans Affairs for the year in which the course of study was completed.
- Current, full and unrestricted license to practice medicine or surgery in a State, Territory, or Commonwealth of the United States, or in the District of Columbia.
- Completion of residency training, or its equivalent, approved by the Secretary of Veterans Affairs in an accredited core specialty training program leading to eligibility for board certification.
- Proficiency in spoken and written English.
