Description
Responsible for care and safety of patients of all ages who come under his/her care. Responsible for assisting physicia! ns during procedures by having all instrument, equipment and supplies needed for surgical procedures. The primary focus of this position is that of scrubbing on procedures and passing instruments to the surgeon. The scrub technician may act as second assistant when required to do so. The scrub technician participates in precepting of other scrub technicians and scrub nurses.
Qualifications
EDUCATION/LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION/SKILLS REQUIREMENTS REQUIRED:
High school diploma/GED
Successful completion of validated skills and competencies or technician school.
Certification Preferred
CPR required
Experience:
One year previous OR Scrub Tech experience required.
