GENERAL FUNCTION Administrative responsibility for the overall operations of the Perioperative and End! oscopy Services. With the assistance of departmental directors and/or charge personnel and in conjunction with Administration and the Medical Staff, will provide framework for assessment, planning, direction, implementation, and evaluation of the services in a manner that is consistent with and responsive to the community and patient needs. Provides effective and efficient delivery of nursing care through the provision of adequate human, material, and financial resources, continuous quality improvement activities and through the maintenance of relevant standards of care, practice, policies and procedures throughout the Same Day Surgery, Operating Room, PACU, Pre-Operative Testing, Outpatient, and Endoscopy departments. Collaborates with physicians and other disciplines to facilitate care planning/problem solving and ethical decision making.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing; certification in cardiopulmonary resuscitation ! (CPR); certification in operating room nursing (CNOR) required! ; successful completion of cardiac rhythm interpretation course or approved equivalent examination. Excellent interpersonal communication skills: verbal, written, and group presentations. Bachelor of Science in Nursing required. Masters degree or working toward a degree in a related field preferred.
Experience: Must have at least five (5) years OR experience with demonstrated leadership/management responsibilities.
