Under the general direction of the Practice Manager is continuously responsible for working with the providers and practice team to coordinate and ensure the delivery of quality care and medical services. Treat patients in a respectful, confidential, family-friendly manner.

This is a full time position at Wakefield Family Care.

Qualifications:
Education: Completion of RN or LPN program.

Experience: One-year office experience preferred.

Responsibilities:
Provides clinical support for all providers (physician! s, nurse practitioners and physician’s assistants).
Offe! rs supervision guidance to medical assistants.
Ensures timely telephone assessments, including triage of appropriate care, for patients with appropriate documentation and scheduling as indicated.
Ensures efficient patient flow and provides timely assessment of patients presenting at the office.
Prepares the examination room with needed supplies, instruments and equipment and maintains room in a clean manner.
Greets patients in a professional, friendly manner, escorting them to exam rooms.
Documents patient’s chief complaint, medical history, vital signs, including BP, temperature, height and weight, visual acuity and immunization history as appropriate to the appointment type and completes pertinent documentation in the Electronic Medical Record.
Prepares/instructs/positions and drapes the patient.
Ensure the doctor is on schedule being mindful of emergencies and unexpected interruptions.
Ensure that patient confidentiality is always mainta! ined.
Performs phlebotomy and venipuncture as needed.
Prepares specimens and documentation for processing or transportation to processing facility.
Perform EKG’s, PFT’s, rapid strep, pregnancy tests and other tests that maybe ordered by the provider.
Care, cleaning and sterilization of equipment per instruction or established procedures.
Assist in minor surgeries and procedures such as pap smears, suturing, dressing changes, catheterizations and casting. Practices aseptic and sterile techniques as needed.
Prepare and administer medications as directed by a provider or indicated in the patient record.
Order medical supplies and medications/immunizations as needed and keep exam rooms and bathrooms stocked.
Keep drug closets clean and organized while ensuring that all medications are current and disposing of expired medications or sample medications per pharmacy procedures.
Disposes of used supplies properly and follows all established i! nfection control and biohazard policies and procedures.
Order medic! ations within practice policy for refills and prescription processing.
Schedule appointments and/or complete orders, for patients for appointments, procedures, tests and consultations with other providers as requested by the provider.
Complete and process HMO referrals, pre-certifications or pre-approvals as needed.
Answer the telephone, filing and record retrieval as needed.
Provide the patient with educational materials as requested by the provider. Instruct patients about medications, diet and exercise.
Assist clinicians with review of reports and clinical studies, communication with patients regarding their test results, recommendations and responses to treatment plans. Ensure that all patient contact is documented in the patient’s medical record following documentation guidelines.
Ensures that emergency equipment is checked and functional.
Ensures that vaccines are handled, administered and stored in accordance with standards of the NH Imm! unization Program, with provision for reporting of adverse events.
Ensure hazardous materials are stored, handled and disposed of in accordance with policies and procedures established by Huggins Hospital.
Supervises the maintenance of an inventory of supplies and equipment as required to perform clinical services. Ensures that sample products are stored properly and they are inspected periodically and removed if outdated
